Wow, that's fast...so in the next two weeks Tea has Marty on the stand. I don't know...somehow I thought the trial was going to go on forever...I
honestly thought that Marty wouldn't be testifying till much later and then the things she wrote in her journal would come into play. From yesterday's
show, Todd told John to go over to the house and get the book that detailed Marty's physio exercises. I'm thinking Todd will tell Tea the same thing
and that she will find the journal and ask Marty to read aloud from it on the stand. Hopefully Tea will be around for longer than the trial, cuz it seems like
it will be short...probably no more than 3 or 4 weeks. That mag interview implied that she has a mysterious secret so maybe that is what will play out after
the trial is over...also I have a feeling she will be involved somehow in the Christian debacle with the Columbian woman whose name I can't remember. When
the interview said something about Tea practicing international law it made me wonder if she will somehow be connected to the A. Martinez character. I believe
he is due back in December as well...

Actually, from what was posted on DD this morning, it seems like the trial is still taping, and that's six weeks out.

I'm so excited that Tea is here as a lawyer. That's just awesome.
I know it might be too much to ask, but I'd love to actually see a discussion on whether this would really qualify as rape, i.e. what the law is. That's too hard for soaps to do, however. They usually focus on relationships and love. LOL I'm also so curious to know what Tea's other reason for being in Llanview is. It's so nice to see FL again. I can't say that enough times!

That's a good point.
I mean Marty wasn't aware of WHO Todd really was because of her amnesia so is she fully consenting? But then, they might have to address the fact that Todd slept with Blair while he was "Walker" and she had no idea who SHE was really sleeping with, so again, is she fully consenting? |

My opinion was that it was not. The crux of the matter as far as the rape is concerned is the definition of "informed consent". There was no force
involved in the sex. Marty was unable to give "informed" consent, but she not only gave consent, she actively pursued the seduction. Prior to the
bedroom scenes, Todd held the door open and told her to leave...and she convinced him otherwise. I see on other boards "informed consent" is being
used to describe "lying"...except if every guy who had lied to a woman to get her in bed was to be charged with rape, there would no room in
prison...lol. I suppose it all depends on the wording in PA of the law...could Marty be described as having "diminished capacity"? They've
mentioned brain injury several times, but it doesn't seem to affect her intelligence level, only her memory. It is a touchy situation but my feeling
regarding the actual legality of the situation is that Todd was not guilty of rape. He also is not guilty as far as forcible confinement. He said she could
leave any time and she just never did. She had access to a computer and sure Todd convinced her to shut it off prior to her realizing that Todd Manning was one
of the rapists, but she never again went poking around. However, she had every opportunity to do so. Tea should not have too much difficulty in getting him
off, but I'm sure to dramatize the situation, there will be lots of cliffhanger moments. My guess is Tea will manage to have Marty admit she still loves
Todd and that having sex was her idea etc. They will have her read from her own journal about how much she loved and wanted Todd. Then Todd will get on the
stand and admit he still loves her, and then Marty will have second thoughts about having the charges dropped or something, none of which would happen in the
real world. Another possibility would be to somehow get Todd into St. Anne's. It will be extremely interesting to see how the show handles this since I
think I read somewhere that RC is a lawyer.
As far as the Walker/Blair situation is concerned, we all know there is a double standard at work there. |

At Todd's hearing, Tea has commandeered her way into defending him -- which gets Nora's back up as much as it scares her. First
issue on the agenda: Get the rape charges Marty filed against Todd dismissed. What's the best tactic to do that, Tea decides? Get Marty on the stand! Will
Marty's testimony send Todd to prison ... or will Tea get the charges dismissed?

I wonder what Tea's up to because I feel like there's more to this than just wanting to defend Podd. There just seems to be more to this than her
wanting everyone to see that he has good in him, that everyone deserves representation, and I don't feel like she wants him for herself.

Says that Tea contacts Ray Montez on December 23rd. Okay I am going out on a limb here and say that Ray Montez is one of Tea's brothers. Maybe Del the cop,
undercover, he is still a man right? lol I know the other brother was turned into a sister. That would be an interesting twist and make Lola and Langston
related to Tea.
